

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Karla Wirth (1994) is a self taught artist, currently based in Berlin. Drawing inspiration from her upbringing in Mexico City and the ever changing and creatives’ Meca, of Berlin, Wirth exceeds in the use of bold colours and humour to reflect on issues of sexual identity, diversity, philandry and its toxicity, and the beauty and pain of intimacy.
As a sexologist her work invites you to celebrate and acknowledge the power of your uniqueness and to celebrate diversity as value and human right.
Her work experiments with the never ending possibilities of incorporating her Mexican heritage and the richness of her culture into her work as a key element in her creations. Specializing in a conceptual reinterpretation of cacti, translating it into a powerful symbol of self protection, resilience and unique beauty.
Wirth’s preferred techniques are acrylic and watercolour, while feminism and sex positivity are the back bone of her work.
